Kestrel Hollow
The hollow
A short story about a hardware store, some birds and a lot of grip tape.
The store
Dana Whitaker found the space in 2015, when it was still a hardware store with two floors of nuts and bolts. She bought the shelves and kept a few drawers.
The birds
A pair of kestrels nested in the cornice that spring. Dana took it as a sign and named the place after the hollow between buildings.
Growing slowly
Cole arrived in 2018 and Mira in 2022. The studio has never advertised. Customers come because someone they know told them to.
